to answer the question differently…

July 18, 2011

YES! We do have a blog. We’re intending to keep a record of just what we do with all the tasty fresh edibles that come home from the farmer’s markets with us each weekend. Time will tell if that’s what we use the space for, but as all good journeys start with a plan, that’s ours.

This weekend’s haul includes kohlrabi, raspberries, rhubarb, radishes, parsnips, new potatoes, carrots, chard, green heirloom tomatoes, beans, leeks and beets. (this doesn’t count the scrumptious Bogart Loves treats, the amazing goods from Sun Street Breads, Gai Gai Thai‘s yummy wings, the grand market pizza from Big River Pizza, the light and fluffy quiche from Chef Shack, the refreshing iced-coffee from Moonshine or the tasty ice cream from Crema Cafe.)

First up on the chopping block was one of the kohlrabi. Stay tuned for our twist on a Danish curry chicken salad that includes grated kohlrabi.

Next: heirloom tomato pie with sauteed leek. And later this week (heat index be damned), an entirely local low and slow pot roast (sorry Guinness, you’re being swapped out for Fulton).

So excited to read about all of your delicious market dishes! I’ll definitely be making that tomato pie as soon as you post the recipe…
